Check In for families

More independence for them. A clearer plan for you.

Agree on a check-in time for the trip home, a first solo journey or a weekend away. Check In helps everyone know the plan without requiring constant location tracking.

The challenge

Reassurance should not feel like surveillance

Parents want to know that a child or teenager is doing well, while young people need room to build confidence. Repeated messages and always-on tracking can create friction even when everyone means well.

Useful features

Turn expectations into a shared routine

01

Scheduled check-ins

Choose when you plan to check in again and update or stop the timer whenever plans change.

02

Location after an overdue check-in

If you choose it, live location sharing can begin when a timer expires so selected contacts have useful context.

03

Optional continuous location

Share live location continuously when it suits the situation, and turn it off again when it does not.

04

People you choose

You decide exactly who can follow a timer, receive notifications, or see location information.

Everyday examples

A family check-in routine built around trust

The journey home

A teenager starts a timer before taking the train home after an evening out.

Travelling alone

A family agrees on check-ins for departure, arrival and the first night away.

A changing schedule

The young person extends the timer when practice or transport runs late.

What it adds to the plan

  • Agreed expectations before a journey
  • Less need for repeated messages
  • Optional location only when it is useful
  • A routine teenagers can manage themselves

Privacy and user control

Your information stays under your control

The app is designed around consent. The person checking in chooses their trusted contacts and when location sharing starts or stops. Families can agree on a routine, but the controls stay with the user.

Frequently asked questions

Frequently asked questions

Can a parent track a teenager all the time?

Continuous location sharing is optional and must be enabled by the user. A family can instead use scheduled check-ins and reserve location sharing for agreed situations.

What happens after a missed check-in?

Selected contacts can receive a notification. If the user enabled it, live location sharing can also begin after the timer expires.

Does the app prevent emergencies?

No. It helps families share status and respond to an overdue plan, but it cannot prevent an incident or replace emergency services.
